Screen_Shot_2015-03-28_at_13.27_.19_.png This week students have been exploring what is meant by the term 'Democracy' and how it applies to their lives. During form time students have been discussing the importance of democracy and how this impacts on their everyday understanding of how Britain is governed.

Students have then applied what it means to live in a democratic country and how their education contributes to this.

Democracy is a form of government where the power lies with the people (being governed). The underlying principle behind democracy is freedom and equality for all its constituents. Democracy acknowledges the **decision of the majority, **and in a democracy, **all constituents have an equal vote, **regardless of stature.
