As part of our continuing primary liaison programme the Kearsley Academy science team ran a 'Rocket Science' day for Key Stage 2 pupils. Led by Mr D Wride the workshop focused on 'scientific enquiry' and 'physical processes'. Pupils developed their science skills whilst investigating how the design of a rocket will affect the distance it travels.
The pupils were fantastic and worked effectively as teams to design a rocket that they launched in the hope that it would travel the furthest! Well Done to all of the pupils who took part.
Comments from the primary school teachers included:

"The children had a fantastic time and have thoroughly enjoyed the day whilst learning and applying their knowledge of science."

"The pupils really enjoyed every aspect, the staff were very welcoming and friendly."

"A brilliant day, we were all made to feel welcome. The staff were excellent and the children really enjoyed themselves and achieved their learning goals."

"Everything was fantastic! The children have been totally engaged and worked well as a team. The materials and resources were brill! All staff have been wonderful. Thank-you for a very enjoyable day!"

The workshop took place on Friday 2nd November.
